Keisha Haywood earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from Emory University in 2009. She has taught courses on African politics, international studies, conflict resolution, genocide, and comparative politics. Keisha has conducted interviews with rebel group leaders and civilian stakeholders, and has traveled to 7 African countries, including Sénégal and Côte d’Ivoire. She was in South Sudan when it became the world’s newest country in 2011. Keisha is the author of “To Spoil or Not to Spoil: Comparing the SPLA’s Role in Sudan’s 1997 and 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreements” (forthcoming in the African Studies Review), and has presented papers at several professional conferences.
